These sweet fancy girls were rescued 3 days after Christmas in 2023. It’s SO extra hard to wrap my brain around dumping critters on Christmas but this isn’t my first rodeo – our sweet Nicky (of Nicky & Lilly) was also dumped during the coldest holiday on Christmas Day of 2022. People are insanely cruel sometimes 💔🥺 They were so happy to be inside & being fed – they ate and slept for days before exploring. Imelda & Gertrude’s OG intro post was back on 1/25/24 🐰
Imelda & Gertrude were adopted and had a home for over a year but were returned recently through no fault of their own 😞 Which is not only so heartbreakingly sad but also means OSB numbers are moving in the wrong direction! But at least Imelda & Gerty are back safe, getting love & good food and able to access appropriate veterinary care 🙏 That’s so very worth all the extra stress. I wouldn’t want them to be in a bad situation AFTER they managed to stay together and get rescued post-dumping – they deserve better than that.
Both of these girls are SO DAMN REGAL 👑 Imelda & Gerty have amazing dewlaps & the noble attitudes to go with ‘em – so dignified & well behaved 🥰 They are great hay eaters (which we all love to see) and are just so sweet, both to each other and to kind humans. They also have a potty box they don’t 💩 in, it’s just for cuddles together ☺️ Like I said, regal! Gerty is the brave bun lady of the couple, while Imelda likes to watch her bunwife’s moves and THEN follow her in adventures once she’s gotten the safety go ahead 🤣
