A lovely update on Chuck & Carrie, two of the 5 rabbits rescued from unethical OAS pet store transfers.
This sweet couple arrived from the Stockton transfer rescue in pretty rough shape. Chuck, whoโs dressed in black, had quite a few bite wounds (some active, some scabbed) and Carrie had a couple as well. It was clear they were in stress and had been experiencing some relationship issues, largely around food.
While itโs not uncommon for one bun in a couple to be a bit too assertive around food (looking at you sassy girl buns! ๐๐ง๐คจ๐), in this case it seemed as if these issues had gone unchecked and worsened by stress overall. Beyond the signs of biting each other, they also werenโt cuddling each other as much and seemed stressed & disgruntled with each other.
Being a calm, stable & experienced foster home for a month has made a huge difference! Fostering really DOES save lives yโall!!! Chuck & Carrie have come such a long way this month ๐๐ช๐โค๏ธ๐ They are cuddling so much more, not chasing or biting and getting much calmer about sharing their food. They just really needed to feel safe & trust in their caregivers and have some consistency & stability with regards to food ๐ฅน๐โค๏ธ
Also finally – why are these buns so obsessed with the toilet?!? ๐๐๐๐ Prior fosters/large bathroom occupants, the tiny and polite Dandy & Mona, were similarly obsessed with this โinactiveโ toilet ๐ hence the barriers in place, but these barriers were no match for a larger, more assertive bun couple ๐คฏ๐ ๐โค๏ธ๐ฐย #rescuerabbitย #bunย #rescuebunnyย #rescueism
Watch them in Action!
